Privacy Notice
Last updated: November 4, 2026
This Privacy Notice explains how your personal data is handled in the game RATSTAURANTS, under Mexico’s Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties.
1. Data controller
Enrique Martorell Fernández, an individual based in Mexico, is the controller of your personal data. Contact for any privacy matter: cocinaly@cocinaly.com.
2. Data we handle
- If you create an account: your email, your password (stored encrypted by our provider; we never see it), whether you confirmed your email, a user ID and the dates you signed up and last signed in.
- Your game: your progress (game money and truffles, restaurants, furniture, staff, recipes, missions, stars, stats and settings).
- What other players see: your restaurant’s name, your chef’s name and look (a game drawing), your restaurant, level, stars and game city, and your visits, infestations and reviews (stars and comments).
- Purchases: if you buy truffles, Apple confirms the purchase to us (product and date). We never receive your card or Apple account details.
- Ads: if you watch an optional video ad, the ad provider (Google AdMob) may process data from your device, such as its advertising identifier, IP address, model and operating system, to show and measure ads. On iPhone and iPad, the advertising identifier is only used if you allow it when the system asks, and you can change this in Settings.
- Technical data: when you connect, our providers log data such as IP address, device type, operating system and date and time, so the service works and stays secure.
We don’t ask for or process sensitive personal data or financial data, nor your real location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. Please don’t write personal data in names or reviews.
3. What we use your data for
Necessary purposes (without them we can’t provide the service):
- creating and managing your account, confirming your email and helping you recover your password;
- saving your game in the cloud and syncing it across your devices;
- showing your restaurant to other players and enabling visits, infestations, reviews and the mailbox;
- delivering the truffles you buy and handling disputes;
- keeping the app secure, preventing cheating and abuse, and enforcing the Terms and Conditions;
- answering your questions, complaints and requests, and meeting legal obligations.
Additional purposes (not necessary): showing optional rewarded video ads and measuring how they perform. If you don’t want your data used for this, don’t watch the ads, deny tracking permission on your device or write to us; this doesn’t affect the rest of the game.
We don’t sell your personal data or use it to make automated decisions with legal effects on you.
4. Who we share it with
To run the app we use providers that process data on our behalf (processors), whose servers may be outside Mexico (for example, in the United States):
- Google (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore): accounts, sign-in, confirmation emails and game saves.
- Apple: app downloads and in-app purchase payments, under its own privacy policy.
- Google AdMob: optional video ads, under its own privacy policy.
In addition, other players see your restaurant’s public information. We will only share data with authorities when a law or an order requires it, or to defend our rights or users’ safety, cases in which the law doesn’t require your consent.
5. How long we keep it
For as long as you have your account. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Local › Game › Delete my account): when you do, your account, your game saved in the cloud, your public restaurants and your mailbox are deleted right away. If you ask us by email, we do it within a reasonable time, except what we must keep by law. Reviews another player has already received may stay in their mailbox, without your email. Without an account, your game is only on your device and you delete it with “Start over” or by deleting the app.
6. Your rights (ARCO) and how to use them
You have the right to access your data, correct it if it’s inaccurate, cancel it (ask us to delete it) and object to its use for certain purposes. You can also withdraw your consent and limit the use or disclosure of your data. To do so, write to cocinaly@cocinaly.com from your account’s email, stating: your name or account email, which right you want to exercise and over which data, and any information that helps us find it. If someone else asks on your behalf, they must prove they represent you. We will answer within 20 business days at most and, if applicable, carry it out within the following 15 business days. Some data may be kept if a law requires it.
From the app you can also change your restaurant’s name, log out, delete your game (Local › Game › Start over) and delete your account with all its data in the cloud (Local › Game › Delete my account).
If you think we didn’t handle your request properly, you can go to Mexico’s personal data protection authority (currently, the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno).
7. Minors
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, create your account and make purchases only with your parent’s or guardian’s permission. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and think your child gave us data, write to us.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your data: encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords stored encrypted by our provider, rules that stop other players from reading or changing your account and your game, and restricted access. No system is 100% secure; if a breach significantly affects you, we will let you know.
9. Data on your device
The app stores on your device (in the browser’s or the app’s local storage) your game, your language, your settings and your session, so it works offline and opens faster. We don’t use our own tracking cookies.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this Privacy Notice because of changes in the law, the app or our providers. The current version will always be in the app (Local › Game), with its date; if the change is important, we’ll let you know inside the app.
11. Consent
By creating an account or using the app you confirm you have read this Privacy Notice and agree to the handling of your data for the purposes described.
